ABOUT FRIULANE

A method preserved for decades.

Cotton stitching, soft velvet uppers, and flexible construction allow the slipper to mould naturally to the foot over time. Light, durable, and made to be repaired rather than replaced, the Friulana was designed for quiet movement through the city and remains defined by the same principles today.

Originally worn by Venetian gondoliers, the Friulana remains largely unchanged in its construction. Each pair is stitched rather than glued, built on a bound rubber sole, and cut by hand in a small workshop in Friuli.
